Meet The Chef
Richard Masani trained as a Chef in Switzerland & Italy. He fulfilled his passion upon establishing Masani in Carlton in 1983.
Inspired by the seasons, and rich produce of Australia’s fields, plains & coasts, Richard draws on classic & regional Italian dishes. Flavour and the tradition of making everything in house is a testament to Masani’s timeless menu and hospitality.
Richard’s specialty are his Mediterranean inspired seafood’s, Northern Italian style game, handmade pasta dishes and superb soufflé. When not in the kitchen, Richard enjoys fine wines and long conversations.

Kara has dedicated herself to the world of fine wine. She is proud to present a grand selection of apéritifs, cocktails, sparkling wines & champagne, wines of the old & new world, aged & rare wines, cognacs, grappe and digestives.
Her formal qualifications include WSET Diploma, Court of Master Sommeliers & Vinitaly International Academy.
